An analysis of Pence’s record on regulations shows a very strong commitment to limited government principles. As a Congressman, Pence supported restraining the regulatory power of federal agencies. As Governor, he issued an executive order and supported multiple efforts to prevent local governments from imposing additional overreaching regulations. The only notable blemish on this record is an anti-competitive measure which banned new nursing homes.
