An analysis of Haley’s record shows an excellent commitment to limited government principles surrounding individual liberties. As Governor, Haley signed measures which strengthened Second Amendment rights while also vetoing actions advanced by the legislature which infringe individual liberties such as helmet mandates. Additionally, Haley has an excellent limited government track record on nicotine issues and signed “right to try” legislation into law. The only blemish on her record was banning the ability of individuals to purchase powdered alcohol.
